ANN TIFFANY

Syracuse, New York

Ann Tiffany has been arrested countless times while protesting over the years, but that has never stopped her. At 85 years old, she continues to stand up for a variety of social, environmental and political issues from her home in Syracuse, New York to countries all over the world. Ann Tiffany’s activism spans from participating in demonstrations against the Vietnam War, the Sanctuary movement, which supported refugees who fled El Salvador and Guatemala during the 1980s, and protesting against military use of attack drones. While she always has an eye on the world around her, she also takes care of her friends and family and does her best to help serve the community. When Ann met her current partner, Ed, in the basement of St. Andrews Catholic Church at a meeting about nonviolence in Nicaragua, they quickly bonded over their shared passion for social issues and have been strong-willed counterparts ever since.
